James was the fourth son and fifth child of William “The Elder” Foster and his unknown wife. James was born ca 1738 in Amelia County, Virginia and died 1821 in Amelia County, Virginia. He married about 1758 to a young lady by the name of Edith. Her last name is not known.

4.	Zenos was born ca 1769 Charlotte Co., VA; died ca 1843 Davie Co., NC; married January 5, 1797 Charlotte Co., VA Dinah Taylor. She was born ca 1775
5.	Mishock was born ca 1772; married 1804 Nettie Taylor
