The second child of William “The Elder” Foster and his
unknown wife was William, Jr. He was
born 1734 in Caroline County, Virginia and died near 1830 in Campbell County,
Virginia. He has been reported as
having been married twice: to Phoebe and Elizabeth League. It is thought that Elizabeth is the mother
to all of his children and that after her death he remarried.
Elizabeth League was born ca 1757 in Amelia County, Virginia
the daughter of Aaron and Cynthia League.
Her death date or place is not available, however she probably died in
Campbell County, Virginia. It has been
estimated that she and William married in 1777 in Campbell County,
Virginia. After their marriage William
and Elizabeth must have moved to Amelia County, Virginia as their first
children were born there.
