Will of Thomas Foster, Jr. In the name of God, Amen.
I Thomas Foster of Rawly Parish, of the County of Amelia, Planter, in
perfect health and memory thanks to Almighty God and calling to mind the
shortness of life of man I have thought proper to make this my last Will and
Testament in manner and form following that is to so say my soul I give into
the hands of almighty God and my body to the Earth to be buried in a descent
Christian manner at the descresion of my Executors after named and as to my
worldly goods it has pleased almighty God for his infinite goodness to ___?__
me with I dispose of them as follows. I
lend and bequeath to my loving wife Jane Foster a young Negro woman named Venus
and Negro lad named Adam and 2 feather beds and furniture three cows, 4 calves,
fifteen head of hogs, two iron pots, one frying pan, six head sheep, and one
(doz?) of knives and forks, six plates, 2 dishes two Bason (bison?) during her
life and after her death to be sold equally divided amongst all my children I give and bequeath to son John Foster one hundred and fifty
acres of land where he now lives to him and his heirs forever. I give and
bequeath to my son William Foster the Tract of land whereon I now live
containing two hundred acres to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath
to my son Thomas Foster one Negro Boy named Peter to him and his heirs
forever. I give and bequeath to my son
William Foster one Negro boy named Booker to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to all my children all
my Estate to be equally divided among them after my Death and lastly I appoint
my son John Foster and my son William Foster Executors of this my last Will and
Testament hereby Revoking and Disamling(?) all and every former wills hereby
made and declaring that this contains in this my last Will and legal
Testament. In witness hereof I have set
my hand and seal this eleventh day of March Anno Domini 1786
